Pack the picnic rugs, throw on your best dress, set up camp - it’s time for Handpicked Festival 2019. With a lineup of Amy Shark, John Butler, Missy Higgins and Odette to boot, this is a festival screaming ‘OH NO WAY, ROSÉ!’. The backdrop, Lake Breeze Wines, with their family having been on the same patch of Langhorne Creek dirt growing grapes for over 130 years and making wine since 1987. An innings Don Bradman would be proud of.
Camp, glamp and pamped punters started Tent City check-In from 11:30am with cars full of energy, vibes and good times primed. From there, the scene was set for barefoot dancing, pink skies and a stellar lineup of wines. The perfect concoction for an Adelaide festival photographer.
Did you know this festival is run just by two sisters? Kate and Lauren. In the beginning, an idea solely to have musicians play for friends and family while sipping on wines. 6 years on, well, the concept is the same - but growing to be one of Adelaide’s best festivals.
Who knows what the future will hold for these beautiful people, hosting other beautiful people, drinking beautiful wines, in a beautiful part of the world.
