In case you couldn’t guess, a photo shoot proposal is when he/or she gets down on one knee and pops the question in front of an Adelaide engagement photographer. Capture the moment of surprise and delight your partner with a collection of beautiful images to remember one of the happiest days of your life.

In this blog post, I’ve rounded up my best advice on how to plan the perfect photo shoot proposal.

Regular or Secret Photo Shoot?

Before you begin, you need to ask yourself whether or not you want the proposal to happen within a regular or surprise photo shoot. So, you’ve got two options.

Regular - book a couples photo shoot and tell your partner it’s a special treat to celebrate an anniversary or even Valentines Day. Once you’re at the location and the nerves have settled down, pop down on one knee and your photographer will capture the delightful surprise as it unfolds.

Surprise - As soon as my partner tries to plan anything remotely romantic, I know somethings up immediately (sorry, Lewis!) So, why not keep it all a surprise? Go for a walk, book a table at your favourite restaurant, or just wait for the right moment at a family or friends gathering, but make sure to have your photographer know the location and approximate time you’ll propose. They will be ready to capture the proposal. Talking from experience, I’ve hidden in bushes and pretended to be a tourist for surprise proposals numerous times - it works!

Add Something Special

Do you want to make your Adelaide engagement photography proposal extra special? Why not make it a day she/he will never forget by planning a pop up picnic lunch or dinner? With a Diploma of events and pop up picnic planning business, I can set up, and pack down a private picnic anywhere around Adelaide. Contact me today to discuss.

Act Natural

You might be a pro at hiding romantic surprises, but if you’re not - make sure you act extremely natural. That means that you shouldn’t be looking for your photographer, posing for the camera, or making sure you change your position for the camera. Let your photographer candidly capture the moment.

Talk to Your Photographer

During the lead-up of the big day, it’s important to realise that your Adelaide engagement photographer has a wealth of knowledge in regards to photographing proposals. If you have any questions, be sure to give them a call or email, they will be more than happy to offer any assistance. Anything to make your special day a moment to remember.

Don’t Stress & Enjoy the Moment

Part of the reason why photographers are hired for proposals is so you can relax and have fun! Live in the moment and have trust in your photographer. He/She has all the experience in the word to successfully capture your special day.

So. What do you think? Time to book in your Adelaide engagement photographer? If you’re planning on popping the question and you’d like a photographer to capture the moment, please contact me and we can start planning.
